KG, In der Braike 1, 73277 Owen, Germany, as an accountable body under data protection law (hereinafter referred to as "Leuze", "we" or "us").

Should you have additional questions on the handling of your personal data, please contact our data protection officer, whose contact details you will find below.

Basic Information

Unless otherwise stated in the following sections, no personal data is generally collected, processed or used when you use our websites.

Users' personal data is used for the following purposes:

  • To execute our services and user services.
  • To guarantee effective customer service and technical support. When you contact us, we will save your details to allow us to process your request, and in case you have follow-up questions.
  • To provide technical and business notices regarding our offering.
  • To send out newsletters or other advertising material, provided that the user has given us the necessary consent.

When you access our Internet sites, our web servers automatically collect general information. This includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of the Internet service provider, the IP address of the computer used, the website you are visiting us from, the pages you visit on our site and the date and duration of the visit.

We cannot use this data to identify individual users. We merely statistically evaluate the information and use it exclusively to improve the attractiveness, content and functionality of our websites.

The Term "Personal Data"

The term "personal data" is defined in the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (Federal Data Protection Act). According to this definition, personal data includes individual details regarding the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable person. This therefore includes, for example, your legal name, your address, your telephone number and your date of birth.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) defines "personal data" as follows:

All information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter "data subject"); a natural person is regarded as identifiable if he or she can be identified directly or indirectly, especially by assigning him or her to an identifying feature such as a name, an ID number, location data, an online ID or one or more special characteristics which are an expression of this natural person's physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity.

Legal basis for the collection and processing of personal data:

If we obtain your consent for the processing of your personal data, Art. 6 para. 1 a GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data.

If we are processing your data to fulfill a contract between you and Leuze electronic, Art. 6 para. 1 b GDPR serves as the legal basis for this processing. This also applies to processing which is required for the execution of precontractual measures.

If processing of personal data is required to fulfill a legal obligation which our company is subject to, Art. 6 para. 1 c GDPR serves as the legal basis for this processing.

If the processing is required to protect a legitimate interest on the part of our company or a third party and the data subject's interests, basic rights and basic freedoms do not outweigh the aforementioned interest, Art. 6 para. 1 f GDPR serves as the legal basis for this processing.

Deletion of data and storage period:

The data subject's personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage lapses. Storage may go beyond this if this has been prescribed by European or national legislation in EU regulations, laws or other requirements which the responsible party is subject to. Data will also be blocked or deleted when a storage period prescribed by the above standards expires, unless it is necessary to continue storing the data in order to conclude or fulfill a contract.

Collection and processing of personal data

Personal data will only be collected if you submit them yourself, for example for the fulfillment of an order, a survey, a competition or registration for personalized services. There you will be informed of the intended purpose of the processing and if necessary asked to give your consent to the storage of the data.

Unless you give your consent, the personal data collected by our website will only be used to process your orders or requests, and may be forwarded to the responsible group company for this purpose. Your data will only be used beyond this in a centrally maintained customer and prospect database administered by Leuze electronic GmbH and merged within the Leuze group of companies if you give your consent. The use of this data is restricted to the purposes of advertising and market and opinion research. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.

If we provide services in advance, e.g. for purchase on account, we may protect our legitimate interests by obtaining a credit check on the basis of mathematical-statistical procedures from Creditreform Stuttgart Strahler KG, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 2, 70174 Stuttgart, Germany. For this purpose we transmit the data required for a credit check to Creditreform Stuttgart Strahler KG, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 2, 70174 Stuttgart, Germany and use the information we receive on the statistical probability of a payment default to make a balanced decision on the justification, execution or termination of the contractual relationship. The credit check may include probability values (score values) calculated on the basis of recognized mathematical-statistical procedures using address data, among other things. Your protection-worthy interests will be taken into account according to the legal provisions.

Your data will be encrypted before transmission and processing in order to protect it from unauthorized access. Please bear in mind that unencrypted emails are not protected from such access.

We will not sell or rent out your data or make them accessible otherwise than described here. Personal data is transferred to state organizations and authorities only to the extent required by mandatory provisions of national law. We have placed our employees, agencies and dealers under an obligation of strict confidentiality.

Sending of information by email and newsletter

The newsletter is sent out on the basis of the user's registration on the website:

Our website gives you the option of subscribing to a free newsletter. When you subscribe to the newsletter, the data from the input screen are transmitted to us.

This includes email address, title, first name, surname & industry.

The following data is also collected when you subscribe:

(1)        IP address of the subscribing computer

(2)         Date and time of subscription

We will request your consent during the subscription process and refer to this Data Privacy Declaration. The newsletter will also be sent out on the basis of sale of goods or services:

If you provide your email address when purchasing goods or services, we may then use it to send you a newsletter. In such a case we will only send direct marketing via the newsletter for similar goods or services.

We will not disclose data to third parties in connection with data processing for the sending of newsletters. The data will only be used to send the newsletter.

The legal basis for processing of data following registration for the newsletter and provision of consent by the user is Art. 6 para. 1 a GDPR. The legal basis for sending the newsletter following sale of goods or services is § 7 para. 3 UWG (Unfair Competition Act).

Contact

You have the option of contacting us via our email address or the contact form. Of course, we only use the personal data you transmit to us in this way for the purpose for which you provided them.

If we request details via our contact form which are not necessary for establishing contact, we always mark these as optional. These details help us to specify your request and to better deal with your concerns. Provision of these details is strictly voluntary and requires your consent. If these details relate to communication channels (for example email address, telephone number), you also consent to us contacting you via this communication channel in order to answer your concerns.

You can, of course, withdraw this consent with effect for the future at any time. To do this, please contact our group data protection officer, whose contact details you will find below.

Applications

You can apply to Leuze online via our application portal. Your online application will be directly forwarded to the HR department via an encrypted connection, and will of course be treated confidentially. Your details will, of course, only be used to process your application and will not be forwarded to third parties outside the Leuze group of companies.

You can find further information on data processing during the application process in the data privacy declaration of our application portal. If you have applied for a particular position and it has already been filled or we think that you are just as or even more suitable for another position, we would gladly forward your application within the company. Please inform us if you do not wish to consent to forwarding. Your personal data will be deleted immediately after the application process has been completed, or after a maximum of six months, unless you have given us your explicit consent to your data being stored for longer.

Please bear in mind that we only offer the application portal for applications. If you nonetheless apply by email, we would like to explicitly point out that email attachments are not encrypted.

Transmission of data to companies within Leuze group

We will generally not transmit your data to third parties outside of Leuze Group unless we are legally obliged to do so, or disclosure of data is required in order to pursue the contractual relationship or you have previously given explicit consent to the disclosure of your data. External service providers and partner companies will only receive your data if this is required in order to process your request. In these cases, however, we restrict the extent of the data we transmit to the minimum required. Where our service providers come into contact with your personal data, we ensure that they likewise comply with the requirements of data protection law. Please also observe the providers' respective data protection notices. Responsibility for the content of outside services lies with the relevant service provider, whereby we check the services for compliance with legal requirements as far as we reasonably can.

Transmission of data to external service providers (external processors)

Your data will be forwarded to service partners where they act on our behalf and support Leuze electronic in providing your services.

Contracted providers will process your personal data within the framework of order processing according to Art. 28 GDPR. The aforementioned service providers only receive access to personal information which is required for the fulfillment of their respective duties. Service providers are prohibited from forwarding your personal data or using it for other purposes, in particular for their own advertising purposes.

Where external service providers come into contact with your personal data we have taken legal, technical and organizational measures and carried out regular controls to ensure that these service providers also comply with the applicable data protection regulations. Your personal data is not forwarded to other companies for commercial purposes.

Website optimization tools

In the course of collecting personal data via website optimization tools we appeal to our legitimate interest according to Article 6 para. 1 f GDPR in connection with recital no. 47. According to these provisions, direct marketing normally represents a legitimate interest. Your interests, basic rights and basic freedoms do not outweigh our interest in advertising, because our Data Privacy Declaration provides you with comprehensive information on data collection and you always have the option to opt out (via link or browser settings). We also only use pseudonymous tracking.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will evaluate your use of the website to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and Internet usage to the website operator.

Since the consultation between Google and the Hamburg officer for data protection and freedom of information on the basis of the resolution taken by the Düsseldorf Working Group on Data Protection-Compliant Design of Analysis Procedures and Range Measurement for Internet Offerings, it has been possible to use Google Analytics in accordance with data protection regulations and free from complaints under particular conditions. We, of course, comply with these requirements. In particular, we would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" to ensure that IP addresses are collected anonymously (so-called IP masking). Google will shorten your IP address beforehand within European Union Member States or other signatories to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. The IP address provided by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You can find further information on terms of service and data protection at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.

We also use DoubleClick, a service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, "Google"). DoubleClick uses cookies to place user-based advertisements. The cookies recognize which advertisements have already been placed in your browser and whether you opened a website using a placed advertisement. In doing so, the cookies collect no person-related information nor can they be used to establish an association to such information.

If this is not something that you want, you can disable the saving of cookies that is necessary for this technology using, e.g., your browser settings. In this case, your visit is not included in the user statistics. You can also use the Ad Settings to select the types of Google advertisements or to deactivate interest-related advertisements on Google. Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies by third parties on the opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative. Both we and Google do, however, continue to receive the statistical information of how many users visited this page and when they visited it. If you do not wish to be included in these statistics, you can block this with the help of additional programs for your browser (e.g., with the Ghostery add-on).

Integration of the Trusted Shops Trustbadge
We have integrated the Trusted Shops Trustbadge into this website in order to show our Trusted Shops seal of approval and any reviews collected, as well as to offer Trusted Shops products to shoppers after they make an order.
This serves to protect our legitimate interest, which takes precedence in the event of a balancing of interests, in optimally marketing our offering. The Trustbadge and the services it advertises are an offering from Trusted Shops GmbH, Subbelrather Str. 15C, 50823 Cologne, Germany.
When calling up the Trustbadge, the web server automatically stores a so-called server log file containing e.g. your IP address, the data and time of the request, the quantity of data transmitted and the requesting provider (access data) and documents the request. This access data is not evaluated and is automatically overwritten seven days at the latest after your site visit comes to an end.
Further personal data will only be transmitted to Trusted Shops if you decide to use Trusted Shops products after completing an order or have already registered for use. In such a case, the contractual agreement made between you and Trusted Shops will apply.

Marketing emails will be sent with the professional mailing software Mailingwork, server location Germany. The emails contain a so-called tracking pixel. This is a miniature graphic integrated into HTML mailings in order to facilitate recording and analysis of log files. [COMPANY and subsidiaries] can use the embedded tracking pixel to identify whether and when an email was opened. We use link tracking – technically worked out by forwarding via the email dispatch server – to evaluate which links are called up when. We use this to create a personal user profile.

The personal data collected via newsletter tracking is stored by the party responsible for the processing and evaluated to optimize dispatch of email and to adapt the content of future mailings even better to data subjects' interests. The personal data collected is not passed on to third parties. Data subjects are entitled to withdraw the separate declaration of consent given for this purpose – via the double opt-in procedure – at any time.

Following withdrawal, the party responsible for the processing will delete the personal data and assign the record a no-profiling label for future mailings. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, [COMPANY and subsidiaries] automatically interprets this as withdrawal.

Social bookmarks

So-called social bookmarks from Facebook, Xing, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube are integrated into our website. Social bookmarks are Internet bookmarks which allow users of such a service to collect links and news items. These are only integrated into our website as links to the relevant services. After clicking on the integrated graphic, you will be forwarded to the relevant provider's site, i.e. only then will user information be transferred to the relevant provider. Please find information on how your personal data is handled when you use these websites in the providers' respective data protection regulations.

Data security

Leuze electronic uses technical and organizational security measures to protect the data we manage against intentional or unintentional manipulation, loss, destruction, and unauthorized access. Our security measures are continually improved in line with technological developments.

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject in the sense of the GDPR and you have the following rights in relation to the responsible party:

Following restriction, your data may only be processed with your consent or to assert, exercise or defend against legal claims, or to protect the right of another natural or legal person, or due to an important public interest on the part of the European Union or a member state. We will inform you before the restriction is lifted.

  • Right to deletion

You also have the right to be informed of the recipients. You have the right to be informed of these recipients by the responsible party.

  • Right to data portability

Article 20 GDPR also gives you the right to receive the personal data relating to you from us in a machine-readable format and to transmit the data to another responsible party without hindrance provided that the requirements of Article 20 para. 1 a GDPR are met, or to have us transmit your personal data directly to another responsible party, if this is technically feasible and does not impinge on the freedoms and rights of other persons. This right does not apply to processing of personal data which is necessary for the completion of a duty in the public interest, or for the exercise of official authority.

  • Right to object

You have the right to lodge an objection with Leuze electronic GmbH against the processing of your personal data according to Art. 6 para. 1 f GDPR.

If you have lodged a complaint, we will cease to process your personal data unless protection-worthy reasons for the processing outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing is for the purpose of asserting, exercising or defending against legal claims.

  • Right to Withdraw Declaration of Consent under Data Protection Law

You have the right to withdraw your declaration of consent under data protection law at any time in relation to Leuze electronic GmbH. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of the processing which took place on the basis of your consent prior to the withdrawal.

  • Right to complain to the supervisory authority

Regardless of any other administrative or judicial legal remedy, you have the right to complain at any time to a supervisory authority, especially in the Member State of your residence, your workplace or the location of the supposed breach, if you believe that the processing of your personal data breaches this Regulation.
